From Hesiods Theogony on the Great Goddess Hekate

'whom she wills , she greatly aids and advances, and makes preemininence in the assembly.

and she sits beside revered Kings in judgment and when men arm themselves for devastating war, the Goddess is at their sides ready to give victory. and bestow glory on whomever she will. and so although she is her mother's only child , she is a privileged goddess among the Immortals,"

Hekate is a truly powerful Deity, the cosmic soul and she is located at the boundaries of the worlds. she stands at the crossroads between light and dark. When we ask Hekate to help us, we ask actively which means we don't just sit there and passively hope she will do what we want , we take action in alignment with what we have asked to hasten the manifestation.
