Carl Jung said ~
“Every father is given the opportunity to corrupt his daughter’s nature, and the educator, husband, or psychiatrist then has to face the music. For what has been spoiled by the father can only be made good by a father, just as what has been spoiled by the mother can only be repaired by a mother. The disastrous repetition of the family pattern could be described as the psychological original sin, or as the curse of the Atrides running through the generations.”
A friend and I saw something similar in nature unfold at the gym a few weeks ago.
People were reacting to a kind of goofy awkward man making really really really loud noises while lifting weights. It was very odd and so loud that it caught everyone’s attention but the reactions were quite different.
Some started laughing, one got angry, others rolled their eyes, another got angry but when he saw people laughing he ceased being angry and joined in on laughing—another was mocking him by copying his screams which this little boy witness. A few minutes later when the man started back the little boy also mocking and copying him. That’s how fast it happens!! It was extremely interesting to watch!!
Here’s a story my friend told me after this happened that sums it up ~
A father said to his son - “Be careful where you walk son!!”
The son responded - “You be careful where you walk, for remember that I follow in your footsteps.”
