Boris Johnson for Putting Finances Before Lives this summer, if they believe it will make them popular with our population by giving in or Throwing in the Towel, People will not be able to live with this Covid without protection in the form of Face Masks and Social Distancing and Limitation of Gatherings without protection, there is still time to look at the worsening situation and make the necessary changes.
The lifting of most Covid guidance and legal restrictions in England is expected on 19 July.
The move will be confirmed on Monday, depending on a review of data.
- The next review in Wales is due on 15 July
- Scotland is due to move to Covid level 0 on 19 July, with most legal restrictions lifted on 9 August
- Some rules in Northern Ireland are expected to change on 26 July
What is changing in England?
The following measures are expected:
Social distancing
- No limits on how many people can meet
- 1m-plus rule removed (except in some places like hospitals)
- Face coverings no longer required by law
Events and gatherings
- Nightclubs can open
- Pubs and restaurants no longer table service only
- No limits on guests at weddings and funerals
- No limits on people attending concerts, theatres or sports events
- No restrictions on communal worship
Travel
- Guidance recommending against travel to amber countries removed
- Adults fully vaccinated in the UK will no longer have to quarantine for 10 days after returning from amber list countries
- Under-18s won't need to quarantine
Other changes
- Guidance on working from home will end
- Limits on visitors to care homes will be removed
On 16 August most Covid restrictions in schools - including "bubbles" - will come to an end, ahead of the autumn term.
It will remain a legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive for Covid.
